Naz Reid is one of the true success stories in the NBA amongst undrafted players, and easily the most successful as a member of the Minnesota Timberwolves. He has played seven years with the club and has become one of the franchise’s most beloved players among the fan base. Falling Knife Brewing Company is even charging just $1 for a patron’s first beverage this weekend if they show off a Naz Reid tattoo.
In 2023-24, Reid became the first Wolves player to ever be named the Sixth Man of the Year, and he's finished fifth and fourth in voting the last two seasons. Reid has certainly played well enough to be a starter in recent years, but he has never complained about being a super sub.
It’s unfortunate that when it finally looked like Naz would become a starter after Julius Randle was traded, Reid also ended up being dealt.
The team needed to trade out talent, though, in order to bring in LaMelo Ball. Regardless, Reid exits the Timberwolves not only as someone who will be forever adored in Minnesota, but also as someone who has found his way onto many franchise leaderboards.
Sixth all-time in games played
For his career, Reid has played in 483 regular season games. That places him sixth on the team’s all-time leaderboard.
Had he remained on the team for next season, Naz would have surpassed Gorgui Dieng (498). The only other names that are ahead of him (although Anthony Edwards and Jaden McDaniels can pass him in 2026-27) are Karl-Anthony Towns (573), Doug West (609), Sam Mitchell (757), and Kevin Garnett (970).
Also inside the top ten in scoring, rebounds, and blocks
The current Minnesota all-time leaderboard shows Reid ninth in points (5,745), seventh in rebounds (2,460), and fifth in blocks (445).
In his career, Reid totaled at least 30 points 5 times, including a career-best of 34 on March 8, 2024. His career-high in rebounds is 18 on December 3, 2022, and he twice blocked 5 shots in a contest.
Third in 3-pointers
From the start of his career, and even more so as his NBA tenure went on, Reid hasn’t shied away from the 3-point shot. In each of the last three years, he has connected on more than two 3-pointers per game.
Altogether, he’s knocked down 731 (506 of those coming since 2023-24), only behind Edwards and Towns in team history.
